Challenge
Learning and development within an organization is important because it can help new employees quickly grow their roles and upskill current employees. Skilled employees are often more confident, enriched and contribute to better business outcomes. CSI Leasing, a leader in IT equipment financing, already has a solid set of resources for its employees including online courses and training seminars. Over time, development programs need to be refreshed to tailor to new needs in the workplace. Adding new courses and another learning platform, the human resources department works heavily with marketing to increase internal awareness.
Objective
The objective was to generate demand and awareness for the new training platform as well as create an easy to use template to promote new online courses in the company’s custom learning management software as they become available.
Solution
Working closely with the Assistant Vice President of Training, we developed a promotional mix to kick start a refreshed program. This included a pre-announcement email, promotional flyers, digital posts on the company’s internal network site and the creation of a dedicated hub on the company’s employee reward platform. Additionally, I worked on training how to edit a simple but modern templates.

Results
The promotional content generated a new renewed energy within company especially within headquarters where flyers were placed. Given the increased participation, new courses were developed and the learning and development team now has a template to help them quickly make announcements with little assistance in an organized way. To date, CSI’s training program has a participation rate over 90% and the new external online courses have experienced an increase in registrations.
